The Crew is the Most Critical Component

Toccata is a fast J/27 and it’s up to the crew to make her a winner. Winning requires commitment, practice, and the willingness to adapt and learn. If we don’t practice we don’t get better.

Toccata races with 5-7 crew members, depending on skill level and weather conditions. Learn the crew positions and train!

We have two types of races we compete in, people can compete on either or both as their personal schedules permit:

• Wednesday Night – we race in Clear Lake with Clear Lake Racing Association. Boat time is Wednesday at 4PM.
• Weekend (usually Saturday only) – we race in Galveston Bay and boat time will depend on the event. Usually distance races 10-14 miles or multiple race regattas with 1-2 mile W/L courses. The events are sponsored by local clubs:
  • Galveston Bay Cruising Association
  • Lakewood Yacht Club
  • Houston Yacht Club
